clay-Ah-Quin(September 27, 1950 - September 10, 2013)

Clayton “Dad” Keaunui Ah Quin Sr. 62 yrs. old returned with Honor to our Heavenly Father, surrounded by his loving family and his Queen on September 10, 2013 at 12:30am. Our Loving Father was born on Sept. 27th 1950 to Joseph Keaunui Ah Quin and Henrietta Bee Ah Quin in Honolulu Hawaii, raised in Hauula on the beautiful north shore of Hawaii.

At 18 yrs old he was love struck by a carton of orange juice and a beautiful striking green eyed German Samoan cheerleader, Irene Maugatula Hannemann after his football game. Even though being raised in paradise our father chose to leave and follow his beautiful girlfriend to California on a football scholarship. Clay and Irene were sealed for time and all eternity in the Los Angeles temple in 1969.

After having two children and the love of a big family, our Dad decided to put off dreams of football and focus his attention to becoming the husband, father and patriarchal leader of his seven kids and 27 grand kids and his Queen.

Our father served as a Sunday school teacher, young mens president, elders quorum counselor, High Council, Bishop, Branch Presidency at the youth purgatory… but his favorite calling was that of a home teacher; but his GREATEST calling was that of a Father, Grandfather and a devoted Husband.

Our Amazing Dad showed great humility in his many occupational opportunities from flipping hamburgers at McDonalds to becoming a supervisor for Garrett Air Research to changing lives at Liahona Academy which he named and was co- owner and took great joy in his role as activities director while changing the lives of many young men who have always looked up to him and called him “Dad”

While being our Super Hero Dad and always supporting all of our many dance concerts, sporting events and family activities he also found the time to train and teach life lessons to his posterity by accomplishing one of his life long dreams finishing 10 consecutive St. George Marathons and benching 405 lbs until the age of 50!! “That’s our Super Hero Dad”. His greatest pastime and one that many people knew him by was his beautiful voice. He loved to sing and he took pride in participating in different events around the community. His voice touched many hearts and people came to hear him. We would tease him about putting on a concert when he was asked to sing for different events. Every time he sang, his biggest fan-the love of his life was there in the audience and he would sing to her and end by pointing her out. We will miss his voice but they are enjoying it in heaven.

Our Loving Father, Grandpa and Husband is survived by his loving Babe, Irene Ah Quin; his seven children and spouses: Tonya Ah Quin (Bryan) Horlacher, Clayton (Julee Mair) Ah Quin, Max (Sunshine Downing) Ah Quin, Joe (Janette Haws) Ah Quin, Irene Ah Quin, Jr., Adam (Rebecca Smith) Ah Quin, Tia Ah Quin (Andy) Stokes; his 27 grandchildren: Cambria Horlacher (Jeff) Hauck, Cecilee Horlacher, Kiana Ah Quin, Jaden Ah Quin, Trevor Horlacher, Tayvia Ah Quin, Sydnee Horlacher, Raya Ah Quin, Lisia Wolframm, Devan Smith Lemmon, Josh Smith Lemmon, Ammon Ah Quin, Joseph Tamasamoa (JT) Ah Quin, Hannemann Wolfgramm, Teancumm Wolframm, Janessa Ah Quin, Keawe Ah Quin, Kalli Ah Quin, Major Stokes, Avenna Ah Quin, Tristan Ah Quin, Legend Stokes, Kalea Ah Quin, Joelle Ah Quin, Tia Ah Quin and Maze Stokes; and his siblings: Almira Mapuana Ah Quin Ah You (Jr. Ah You) and brother, Elliott Ah Quin (Mackey Ah Quin)

Our dear father will be reuniting with his wonderful parents, Joseph Keaunui and Henrietta Bee Ah Quin; his father-in-law, Max Seiuli Young Hannemann; (his priesthood mentor) and mother-in-law, Irene Dole Hannemann; and his little “Earth Angel” granddaughter, Tierra Irene Wolfgramm.

lyndquist(December 30, 1979 – October 15, 2013)

Joy Christensen Lindquist, 33, died peacefully in her home on October 15, 2013, surrounded by her family after valiantly battling cancer for over 2 ½ years. She was born on December 30, 1979 in St. George, Utah, to Lynn and Carma Jean Christensen.  She married Ben Lindquist on July 28, 2000, in the St. George Temple.

Joy was full of life and, at the age of 33, was able to leave a mark on the world that would take most a lifetime.  She was humble, smart and beautiful.  Joy had many talents and could have done anything in this life, but chose to be a mother and a wife, something she did with grace, patience and love.  Her greatest love in this life was her family, especially her two kids, Lydia and McKay.

Joy had an amazing sense of humor, but never at the expense of someone else.  She was never the life of the party, but always made the party or gathering worth being at, whether it was bringing food, witty conversation or unbiased perspective.  Joy knew who she was and would never compromise her beliefs or principles, yet never alienated anyone for believing or doing something different.  She never wanted anyone to feel uncomfortable and would help anyone she came across without ever expecting anything in return.  Joy truly was Christ-like, she loved the Lord and was always willing to do what it took to follow the Savior. She never complained, even when her body suffered through numerous cancer treatments and surgeries.  Her name was more than a name, it was who she was, how she lived and what she brought to others, she truly was JOY.

She is survived by her husband Ben, children: Lydia and McKay.  Parents:  Lynn and Jeannie Christensen. Siblings: Jena (Harold) Nelson of Washington, Utah; Jed (Amy) Christensen of St. George, Utah; Jill (Craig) Riddle of Washington, Utah; Jason (Alicia) Christensen of Washington, Utah; and Josh (Karisa) Christensen of Washington, Utah; and many nieces and nephews who adored her.

Allred, Lois(December 26, 1915 – December 5, 2013)

Lois Isabella Martin Allred (Reeve), nearly 98, dear mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, aunt and friend, always energetic and optimistic, passed away of natural causes on December 5, 2013.

Lois was born in Provo, Utah on December 26, 1915 to William Perley Martin and Alice Isabella Farrington.  She married Daniel Free Allred of Wallsburg, Utah in Stockton, California, on September 4, 1936, her husband of 63 years.  Their marriage was solemnized in the Salt Lake Temple on November 3, 1942.

At the age of 84, in the year 2000, a year after Daniel passed away, she married their family friend, William Smith Reeve, whose wife had also passed away the same month as Daniel.  Together she and William moved from Salt Lake City to Southern Utah to be in a warmer climate and to enable her to be near her brother Ray and his wife Heloise, her sister Mary, and nephews and nieces.

William only survived fourteen months following their marriage, and Lois has since lived alone with her dog in Hurricane from the age of 85, some 12 years.  She was blessed with good health, and these last years continued to be very happy ones.  During this period she and her neighbors became very close.  These dear, dear friends, along with members of her family living in the vicinity, volunteered untold hours visiting her and assisting her in countless ways, and it was only because of this kindness that she was able to lead a life of seeming independence, which she treasured.

Members of her immediate family, none of whom lives in Southern Utah, wish to express their heartfelt thanks to each of these good people.  They made her last years a joy.

She was active in the LDS church and the Daughters of the Utah Pioneers.  She served selflessly in the church, holding many leadership positions.

As an accomplished artist, she painted many award winning landscapes in both oil and watercolor.  She was a member of the Associated Utah Artists.

She loved to spend time with her children and grand children and endeavored to teach them guiding principles.  She will be dearly missed by her family and friends.

He was born September 5, 1927 to Edna Turnbeaugh and Lorraine Pendleton in St. George, Utah. He and his sister Alene Pendleton Adams were raised by their Grandmother Margie Turnbeaugh in Washington, Utah and he always held a special place in his heart for her. He attended schools in Washington City and St. George.

Theo was the beloved husband of Harriet Raburn, caring father of Vicki (Doug) Terry, Bradley Theo Pendleton (who preceded him in death) Becky (Paul) Olsen, Todd (Tyalee) Pendleton, cherished grandfather of Trevor and Sarah Terry, Landon Terry, Derek and Claire Terry, Jessica and Tyler Anderson, Jen Terry, Justin and Teryn Olsen, Ryan Olsen, Tanner Olsen (currently serving in the Oregon Portland Mission), Braden Olsen, Trent Pendleton, Tierra Pendleton and Tyce Pendleton and Great Grandfather to Katelynd Terry, James Anderson, Lincoln Terry, Brooks Anderson, Sophie Terry and Thomas Terry.

They lived and raised their family in St. George. He was an active member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints, serving in various positions.

As a businessman he and his brother-in-law, Klein Adams, started Adams and Pendleton Auto Body which became Adams and Pendleton Chevrolet and Cadillac. Later he formed Sunland Chevrolet and Cadillac. His motto was: “I’d rather push a Chevy than drive a Ford”. He was proud to be an original partner in the Ashley Furniture Store in St. George with his son and son-in-law, Todd and Paul. Theo was also a successful real estate developer, including the community of Diamond Valley, and watched proudly as that community grew and thrived.

Fire Department TheoHe served faithfully as a volunteer on the St. George Fire Department for over twenty five years, answering calls all hours of the day and night. He also served as a member of the St. George Lions Club.

Theo enjoyed many activities: making new friends, traveling across beautiful America, cruising the grand oceans, bird watching, fishing, building homes, hunting, the Utah Jazz, and gardening, but his greatest joy was his family. He always commented if he knew how much fun grandchildren were he would have had them first. He loved spending time with them anytime and anyplace. It was often said he was so generous and made sure that everyone felt special.

Special thanks to Dr. Khoury, Dr. Klein, Dr. Moon, Nurse Taylor, Nurse Ryan and the rest of the caring and compassionate staff of the Intensive Care Unit at Dixie Regional Medical Center. HaycockMegan obit

(1976 – 2013)

Every morning I read the daily obituaries and now it is my turn to write my own. I was born at LDS hospital on February 20, 1976 to Al and Nancy Rounds. I am the oldest of six girls and one boy. I am the mother of two beautiful girls, Lydia Dylan and Brooklyn Michelle, and wife to Joshua David Haycock.

I married my best friend in the Salt Lake Temple August 20, 1996. He treats me like a queen, loves me unconditionally, and I am going to greatly miss him. He is an amazing man who will take care of our girls. Lydi and Brooki, I want you to be happy, keep living life to its fullest, remember who you are, always choose the right, and do the things you know you should do. Know that you are a child of God and you can pray to Him whenever you need to. You are here to serve and have a special purpose. I don’t know what that purpose is, but I will always be a part of it.

People ask me all the time what my hobbies are or what I like to do and it’s hard because my life is my kids and I like to do what they like. I love music and art. I’m a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. My testimony is very personal and I hold it dear to me, but I want my girls to always know that I know I am now in heaven with my Heavenly Father, Savior Jesus Christ and all those who have passed before us. I miss you all already but I know I will see you again because families are forever.

I leave behind my loving husband, Josh; daughters, Lydia and Brooklyn; father, Al (Cynthia); mother, Nancy; five sisters: Ashlie (Jamie), Whitnie (Gary), McKinsie (Zach); Quinn “Ghost” (Bryan), and Hadi; brother, Andy; cousins and others who have helped me. Preceded in death by my grandparents, Sammie Beck, Kent and Cenella Rounds and my niece, Zoie.
